Application

The application process involves two stages

1. Submit the following application documents to berlinoperaacademy@gmail.com by our application deadline March 15

• Recordings of two arias

• Desired Role(s)

• Resume and Headshot

• Proof of Payment

Application Fee

2. Applicants will be notified once they are cast, or casting has been finalized of their status. Successful candidates will then be requested to participate in a face-time interview. Applying early is recommended for early casting.

Tuition

Tuition includes a role, the full intensive instruction offered in the summer program, and shared-room accommodation for the duration of the program. Thanks to our donors and the support of the city of Berlin, we have been able to double our scholarship funding and are able to offer over € 100,000 in scholarships to successful applicants.

Full tuition: € 3950

Cover tuition: € 2950

Full tuition for lead roles denoted with an asterix " * " : € 4450

Surcharge for a single room instead of shared room: € 550

After acceptance, a 950 non-refundable deposit is due to secure the place at BOA and offered role.

Scholarship and Fellowship

To apply for financial support, please include a brief letter of request at the time of your application. Scholarships are available in sums ranging from 500-3000 € and we offer a limited number of full-tuition fellowships. Please specify exactly the amounts of scholarship for which you are applying.

Please also include other sources of funding from which you are raising financial support, such as crowd-funding, fundraising concerts, fundraising dinners, completed applications for local scholarships, and other means of support. Candidates displaying particular need and demonstrating merit and ability will be considered by the scholarship committee. We have scholarships available for all genders, ages and roles, but particularly encourage male singers of merit to apply.
