Lutz de Veer

Born in Berlin, Lutz de Veer studied conducting with Prof. Klaus-Peter Seibel at the University of Music and Drama in Hamburg and attended various masterclasses, with, among others, Prof. Heinz Rögner and Wolf-Dieter Hauschild. While still studying, he went to the stage of the state capital Kiel as an accompanist in 1992, and in 1995 he became second Kapellmeister. In 1997, Lutz de Veer became the first Kapellmeister and deputy director of the music director to the Städtische Bühnen Osnabrück, where he took over the general music director position in 1999/2000.

During the 2001/02 season, he became the first coordinator Kapellmeister of the Staatsoper Hannover. From 2006 to 2010 he continued his engagement as the first Kapellmeister under the new director Dr. Michael Klügl. Since August 2010, Lutz de Veer has been the general music director at the Plauen-Zwickau Theater.

In addition to his permanent engagements, Lutz de Veer conducted the opera houses in Nuremberg, Saarbrücken, Heidelberg, Meiningen and Regensburg and worked with many other orchestras, including the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, the Kaiserslautern Radio Orchestra and the Südwestfalen Philharmonic.

In addition, Lutz de Veer regularly teaches in various pedagogical fields. In this capacity he has often led the Lower Saxony Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Landesmusikrat. From 2006 to 2010, Lutz de Veer also worked as an instructor for conducting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover.
