Audition Repertoire Requirements

Piano Accompaniment is not required


Violin:

  • First movement exposition from a standard repertoire concerto (e.g. Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Bruch, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Wieniawski, Vieuxtemps or Dvorak).
  • Three standard, contrasting orchestral excerpts of the applicant’s choice.

Viola:

  • First movement exposition from a standard repertoire concerto (e.g. Hoffmeister, Stamitz, Bartók, Walton, Casadeus).
  • Three standard, contrasting orchestral excerpts of the applicant’s choice.

Cello:

  • First movement exposition from a standard repertoire concerto (e.g. Haydn, Elgar or Dvorak).
  • Three standard, contrasting orchestral excerpts of the applicant’s choice.

Double Bass:

  • First movement exposition from a standard repertoire concerto (e.g. Bottesini, Koussevitzky, Tubin, Dittersdorf, Hoffmeister).
  • Three standard, contrasting orchestral excerpts of the applicant’s choice.
