Audition Repertoire Requirements

Piano Accompaniment is not required


Flute (Piccolo optional):

  • First movement exposition from a standard repertoire concerto (e.g. Mozart, Stamitz, Devienne, Nielsen, Ibert).
  • Three standard, contrasting orchestral excerpts of the applicant’s choice.
  • If auditioning also with piccolo:
    • In addition to the above program, first movement exposition from a standard repertoire concerto or two standard, contrasting orchestral excerpts.

Oboe:

  • First movement exposition from a standard repertoire concerto (e.g. Mozart, Bellini, Krommer, Vaughan Williams, R. Strauss).
  • Three standard, contrasting orchestral excerpts of the applicant’s choice.

Clarinet:

  • First movement exposition from a standard repertoire concerto (e.g. Mozart, Weber, Copland, Nielsen, Finzi, Krommer, Stamitz).
  • Three standard, contrasting orchestral excerpts of the applicant’s choice.

Bassoon:

  • First movement exposition from any standard repertoire composition (e.g. Mozart concerto, Saint Saens sonata)
  • Three standard, contrasting orchestral excerpts of the applicant’s choice.
